Members of the Irish Composers’ Collective have been involved in and created a number of projects over the years. Click on the links below to see more details:
A concert series showcasing new works by composers from the Irish Composers' Collective. Each concert programme features one composer central to the canon of modern music and new works by ICC members presented in dialogue with this work.
A collection of sound installations and performances with a theme of communication. Premiering over 20 new works that explore how we communicate directly and indirectly with music.
A four-part concert series premiering 20 new works by emerging Irish composers, paired with the visual interpretations of dance, animation, projection, and simply, the physical body in space. Each concert premieres five new works, developed collaboratively through a series of workshops, and includes a unique visual interpretation, along with a number of responsive works curated by the performers involved.
An evening showcasing 7 interdisciplinary sound installations/performances & a concert of 8 new works in 45 Merrion Square, the Irish Architectural Archive, with installations of music, film, dance, spoken word, and visuals.
The Strung Series, a 4-concert project exploring the varied role of the violin in 21st-century music through the eyes of four contrasting and brilliant players: Roisín Walters – Classical, Claire Duff – Baroque, Zoe Conway – Irish Traditional and Oleg Ponomarev – Russian-Gypsy, Klezmer, Hot Club, Jazz, and World.
As well as a celebration of the legacy left behind by the last decade of Irish Composers Collective activities and a summing up of where the collective is in 2014, ICC10 was as a springboard, catapulting the ICC into its second decade in stronger shape than ever before. Eight very varied concerts across two days will include appearances from well over half our current members, so the festival should bring the less tangible aspects of the organisation to the fore as we celebrate and explore the past, present, and future of this wonderful, unique and important movement we are privileged to be members of.
