workshop w/Cue Saxophone Quartet

The Irish Composers Collective will be hosting a workshop with the fabulous Cue Saxophone Quartet this Saturday from 16:00 to 18:00 in the Boydell Room of the Trinity College Dublin Music Department in Front Square.

// A bit more about the Quartet

Cue Saxophone Quartet is a talented and ambitious new chamber group, composing, arranging, and performing music in contemporary, classical, jazz, and popular genres. Cue's players have a wealth of experience, having received mentoring from the RTE ConTempo string quartet, the Vanbrugh String Quartet, saxophonists Kevin and Tim Hanafin, composers Donnacha Dennehy, Evangelia Rigaki, and Linda Buckley, and summer courses at Berklee College of Music, the Kodaly Society of Ireland, and the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble.

Stephen O'Brien is a composer, teacher, performer, ICC Secretary, and a foundation scholar at Trinity College Dublin, where he is currently studying in the Music and Media Technologies masters programme.

Sean Kenny is in his final year of the Bachelor of Music degree in DIT conservatory of music and drama where he studies under Kevin Hanafin as a performer and pedagogue. He has performed in many ensembles such as the Irish Youth wind ensemble and the DIT wind ensemble

Ryan Hargadon is a performer, teacher and currently studying for his B Mus degree in DIT, Rathmines with alto saxophone as his first study. He is also a keen pianist and accompanist, and he has played with a variety of different groups and choirs of many musical genres.

Billy griffin studies has studied music part time in both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Dublin's institute of Technology. He maintains a keen interest in classical and jazz music and has attended courses with the New School of Music and Berklee College of Music in the US and Italy.
