Dublin based composer and arranger Luke Duffy, has been keenly pursuing his compositional interest since he finished his Music Education degree in Trinity College. Having specialised in composition in his final year, Luke went on to complete a masters in Music Composition from Trinity College, under the tutelage of composers Linda Buckley and Donnacha Dennehy.
Luke has composed for a number of groups including the Lucilin Ensemble, Trinity College Singers, Co-Orch Dublin, and Trinity Orchestra and has received a number of awards for composition including 1st prize for best original song at the Feis Ceoil 2014. Outside of this, Luke is a regular arranger for a number of a cappella groups as well as featuring as pianist/arranger on a number of recent music releases from singer-songwriters in the last couple of years. Luke also makes up one half of the ambient post-rock duo Variant Sea, a project which combines his pared back chordal approach to piano with layered electric guitar melodies.
At the moment, Luke is working on further releases with Variant Sea as well as a choral project with Icelandic choir Graduale Nobilii.
