The Irish Composers Collective presents a two concert series of new music by 7 of our composers written for solo pianist Kian Geiselbrechtinger. The first concert takes place on June 21st. It's BYOB so we invite you to bring a few drinks along for an engaging evening of new and classical piano music. Wine glasses shall be provided.
Kian grew up in Dublin, but studied in the Leipzig and Mannheim conservatories and lived in Germany for twelve years. His first major was composition (Reinhardt Pfundt, Sidney Corbett), and works ranging from solo to orchestral and opera were performed from Stuttgart to Berlin and back again.
Piano as a second major was completed in Leipzig with Birgit Polter, after having studied with Anthony Byrne at the RIAM in Dublin and Uwe Balser at the Heidelberg music school.
He returned to Ireland in ’12 and is now performing, teaching and composing away merrily.
